About The Artist ~
Brett E. Bartlett (a.k.a. FISH SOLO), was born in Ann Arbor, MI
In 1971. For reasons unknown to him, he spent the early years of his life up
through high school in Horseheads, NY, promptly moving to Vermont after graduation for
five and a half years while attending college. Fish started his education at Green
Mountain College and eventually graduated from Castleton State College with a
B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Art. The schools were only 11 miles
apart, but also worlds apart, allowing his manifestation from the boy to the man,
realizing only too late that he should have studied art and philosophy rather than
the American capitalists' flawed order. This is when the Fish was born, reality was broken,
giving way to thoughts and ideas society had been suppressing. A whole new world
was to be found and he spent the next 6 years living the contemporary beat life.
Living without working, traveling back and forth across country, and countries...for
that matter, in search of a constant rush, living, learning, tasting life. Following
the seasonal changes, some would dare say a ski bum but how limiting a statement.
The circle slowing for now, building for the dreams of the future, trapped by choice
in a marketing job to see what all the hype is about, living still the mantra of all or
nothing. When he wanted to ski, he moved to Alta, best snow on earth,
summers abroad or spent skiing in MT Hood, OR. When he wanted to surf, he
moved to Hawaii following boyhood dreams unfulfilled by limited family
vacations. Who knows what's next for this modern day Sidartha? Look for him
floating past in the clouds near you soon and give that bum on the street
your extra change. Karma will take you full circle and the Fish might be hungry...
