Salt Lake City, UT, June 24, 2006 - OutdoorGearEngine.com (OGE) displays updated pricing and shipping information for outdoor gear from top web retailers. The service was launched in the winter of 2005 with the mission of providing up-to-date pricing information on thousands of products from the most respected outdoor companies. Featured brands include DAKINE, Thule, The North Face, Smith and Kelty.
"Our software has been built from scratch to accurately compare prices on tens of thousands of outdoor products. The software scans catalogs from our retail partners for the most recent pricing information," says CEO Jesse Hoffman. One limitation with many comparison sites is that algorithms do not classify a specific product in one succinct comparison. With OGE, the data is compiled to present one comparison page that features pricing from the retailers that carry that specific product. If a user searches for a product that has not been indexed yet, matching results are presented from the entire library of over 300,000 skus.
