Petzl Appoints Headlamp Division Manager

Clearfield, UT, October 20, 2006 - Petzl America, a leading manufacturer of climbing equipment and Hands Free Lighting solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of John Kurth as Headlamp Div Manager.

With his new role, John "Nazz" Kurth will be managing the headlamp product-line, working closely with the two sales market leads: Jon Rockefeller, Sport Manager and Michel Goulet, Work & Rescue Manager.

"It is great to have someone like Nazz fill such an important position," says Sales Director, John Pieper. "His background in international business makes him ideal for this fast moving product line. His love for the mountains and climbing meant that he joined us with a pre-developed knowledge of our products and appreciation for our brand."

He originally comes from New Hampshire and moved to the Salt Lake area from Chicago where he worked for a consumer goods firm. Nazz has guided in the mountains of Colorado and South America and has lived and worked in Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia.
