THORLO Preserves Trails & Planet
June 8, 2006 - THORLO, the originator of Thorlos activity-specific socks, is dedicated to preserving America's trails and encouraging people to embrace a healthy living. Involvement with the American Hiking Society's (AHS) 14th Annual National Trails Day (June 3, 2006) is one of the many steps THORLO, Inc. takes towards preserving the nation's recreational opportunities.
This year the AHS, together with THORLO, sponsored over 1000 National Trails' Day events around the country. Events included trail creation and maintenance; trail clean-ups, hikes and celebrations.
Thorlos Product Manager, Deb Lazenby, comments on the company's dedication to preservation and sustainability. "We believe that the more people participate, the more they will understand the need for preserving and protecting trails. National Trails Day is an important event in this regard, and we are proud to be a part of it."
In addition to its National Trails Day involvement, THORLO is a regular contributor to the AHS' National Trails Fund, a privately supported grants program that provides funding to grassroots organizations working toward establishing and protecting foot trails in the USA.
