Primus Introduces the World's Most Efficient Backcountry Stove

Lander, WY, November 20, 2007 - With the launch of the EtaPower MultiFuel stove, Primus raised eyebrows with a powerful and efficient product that is capable of burning twice as long from a single fuel canister than other stoves on the market.

And add to that the announcement that the company will buycarbon offsets for the small amount of fuel not used directly by the stove...Primus has created the first ever 100% efficient backcountry stove.

"Backcountry stoves are a necessity for outdoor enthusiasts. But the majority of stoves out there are only 40% efficient, meaning they can capture and utilizes 40% of the fuel used. That's no good." said John Smithbaker, from North American Gear (exclusive distributors of Primus stoves). "The new ETAPower captures and utilizes the energy from 80% of it's fuel."

Primus' EtaPower stove blends one of the most fuel-efficient stove designs in the world with the convenience of multi-fuel technology.

Able to burn pressurized LP gas, white gas, diesel, kerosene, or aviation fuel, the EtaPower MF stove is so effective that less than 20% of the cumbustible heat is wasted, in contrast to the average rate of 60% with other stoves.

To account for the small volume of lost fuel efficiency, Primus will contribute a donation for each unit sold to BaumInvest, an international carbon offset group.
