The Completely Biased Review...

I believe that the Adventure Medical Kits' Mountain Patrol Pack is the perfect product for anyone who needs a small, complete and easy to use first-aid kit. Its size makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods of skiing or hiking, and its soft-shell design allows it to be easily compressed inside a larger pack or even your luggage. It is also very lightweight compared to other products I've looked into, especially considering all its contents.

The medical kit is well-equipped. I really like the small book on wilderness and travel medicine that is easy to use and extremely compact, and the small blood pressure cuff, the stethoscope, and the digital thermometer are especially added bonuses. These features give the professional the extra tools needed, and facilitates the rapid decision making process that this particular field requires.

Although the pack includes the appropriate medical materials needed to handle the type of daily injuries that a ski patroller encounters, I could suggest a few changes. In order to comply with the group size and trip duration that the pack is designed for, I would add more bandaids as well as some larger adhesive patches. Also, I believe that carrying aspirin is just as important as carrying ibuprofen, which the kit includes. The pack is conducive to adding or removing items for specific trips, though, such as removing the book in favor of an extra laerdel mask. As far as using it exclusively as a fanny pack for ski patrolling, I would switch the contents to a slightly larger, contoured wraparound pack.

As a whole, the Adventure Medical Kits' Mountain Patrol Pack is great for multiple uses. If you were to have one first-aid kit, this should be the one.
