// Activities

Remember the following items: swim suit, hiking/tennis shoes, warm cloths, sunscreen, sunglasses, and casual cloths for the
wedding ceremony.

Also:The GM at the Peruvian said we could use the walk-in coolers so we could get a bunch
of food and store it all in the walk-ins. Just a thought. Any other suggestions?? Let us know through the post
board.
Please don't feel like you'll need to pack expensive, formal clothing for
our wedding. It ain't necessary. We want a casual setting for our guests...with emphasis strictly on the celebration of our marriage and
the surroundings that make up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Most of the activities listed on this page are simply suggestions (except the Saturday, Sept 20th plans), and we can change anything we want at
last minute's notice. I just offered ideas here to give everyone a heads up on some of our options.

Just to let y'all know, you won't find a wild night life in
Little Cottonwood Canyon. Maybe if you're lucky you can stumble upon a gathering of locals playing volleyball at the town park or
something, but no shops (except a few at Snowbird) or strip malls or anything like that. You can get to the strip mall capital
of the world just by driving 12 miles down the canyon to Sandy.. but not much up in Alta. Snowbird Resort (just one mile
down the road from Alta..still in Little Cottonwood Canyon), does have a couple of restaurants and shops. I've listed those
below.

Here's a day-by-day plan of action that we came up with:

Thursday, Sept 18th
We're not sure how many people will be in town on Thursday, but we're thinking we could use this day to hike around the
canyon a bit. So we are planning a 'coalition of the willing' Mt Superior hike for dawn on Thursday morning. I guess
it's sort of like our Bachelor/Bachlorette party combined. If we start hiking at 7am we should be back at the lodge for
lunch...which we'll try to have planned out based on the number of folks in town (remember the lodge is not providing
any meals). From there we could take smaller, less intensive hikes in the afternoon around Albion Basin (for those of
you not ready to climb the 2500+ vertical feet to the summit of Superior!). We'll just play it by ear. For dinner
Thursday night we can coordinate together on where everyone wants to go. One cool thing we just found out is that the
Oktoberfest will be going on all week and weekend at Snowbird. Maybe we could all go to Oktoberfest and have
beers and bratwurst for dinner on Thursday night!

Friday, Sept 19th
I know that Friday afternoon we (wedding families) are all going to be getting things set-up at the lodge, so from noon until
about 4:30pm we don't have any activities planned. We do have some ideas for the morning and evening, though. In the morning
we thought it would be cool to get a group of people together to ride the Tram at Snowbird. The Tram brings people to Hidden
Peak from the Snowbird Center. I think the top of Hidden Peak is about 11,000' above sea level, and the Snowbird Center is at about
8,000'. The Tram can get us all there in one ride in under 10 minutes. From the top you can stay as long as you want...just catching
one of the many Trams going down when it's time to leave. You can hike around from the peak for a while or even hike all the way back
to the lodge if you choose. Tram rides are $10 per person round trip. If we get a group of 10 or more to go together it's $9 per
round trip. As far as the evening goes...we are planning a 'Pot Luck' pool party at the Peruvian Lodge. The lodge is letting us use
their big BBQ, so we're providing hamburgers, hotdogs, and various salads for dinner. Feel free to bring anything you would like
to grill, but we'll just have the basics. Also plan on bringing your own beverages for this casual scene (yeah, right!).

Saturday, Sept 20th
The big day! The ceremony is scheduled for 2pm. Early in the morning I've been asked to take the dogs and vacate the premises until
noon or so. What I thought I would do is roam around up in Albion Basin with the dogs to take in the magnitude of the day. Anyone who
would like to join me is welcome to do so. Just a mellow time to hang out in the forest and look for moose, marmots and birds of prey. I
couldn't think of a better way to pass the time. After the brief ceremony we will be tied up for a while taking photos. We'll take some
at the lodge and then we are planning to drive up to Albion for a few more. Dinner is scheduled for 5pm, so from 2:30pm until dinner we'll
have lawn games for kids and adults, homebrewed beer, wine, and appetizers. Once the formal dinner has concluded we are opening up the
party so a few townsfolk may begin to mingle in.

Sunday, Sept 21st
The only thing we have planned for the day after is a 10am Alta Lodge brunch. The Alta Lodge has a very popular brunch every Sunday
morning through October. It's kind of expensive at $17 per plate...but well worth it. The food is amazing with a perfect view of High
Rustler. Anyone who would like to join us for breakfast is welcome. We can figure out a plan for the remainder of the day while
having breakfast.

Here's a few restaurants/shops at Snowbird:
